You've got to find what you love...
How to be satisfied in life? You've got to find what you love, and once you find, just do what you love.
This is precisely what keeps the tough going when the going gets tough. Am I getting a bit too preachy here? Not at all. May be I am throwing light on a simple fact which is capable of bringing joy to one's life.
All of us know who Steve Jobs is and what he has done. A child who was put up for adoption by his parents, a college drop out, a man who was fired from the company which he started, and of course 'the' man who has changed our lives with an 'i'.
Apple, was started by Steve and his friend in his parents' garage, when he was 20. In ten years it became a $2 billion company with more than 4000 employees, with Macintosh, their finest product capturing the imaginations of thousands across the globe. And say what, he got fired from his own company..!!! From the perverted genius he was, he got reduced to a laughing stock.
But one thing Steve never ceased to do was to love what he did. It could not have been anything else but this passion that would have urged him to start from the scratch again. The aura of being a successful entrepreneur was replaced by the spirit of a beginner. He entered one of the most creative periods of his career and established his new company Pixar, which created the first computer animated feature film - Toy Story and NeXT, which was later acquired by Apple itself..!!!! Thus Steve rejoined at the helm of Apple, and the technology which was developed by him at NeXT forms the crux of Apple's multi-billion business today.
The best thing Steve did was to find at an early age itself, what he loved to do. Once you start loving what you do, you believe that you do great work. Nothing else brings that sense of satisfaction in life. Never settle until you find it, and when you find it you will know it.
So what are you waiting for? Start loving what you do...

ReplyDeletei agree, reading the new book out on sale..jobs was a noteworthy human.
ReplyDeleteVery true. Steve jobs aside, we have classic examples here of love for music without the need to look beyond our shores. Sri Purandara Dasa has composed over four hundred and seventy five thousand kirtanas discarding his wealthy life. This could happen only because of his staunch love for music.
