I am back to blogging..!!!!!


So.. here i am after a short hibernation..back to blogging ( excuse me for the language used..)

After a fortnight of journeys and sleepless nights traveling, it does feel a bit refreshing when you are back home in front of your PC, doing what you love, killing time and at the same time preparing for the sterner tests awaiting you in the coming weeks. The 'Utsavam' season in Kerala is slowly drawing its curtains, and it is indeed blissful to know that Temples still continue to promote our own music which uphold the traditional values imbibed in our culture.

Due to the increased number of concerts within a pint-sized area and a niche audience, it is quite a challenge for the musician to avoid repetitions, atleast in the krithis that are rendered, leave alone the raagas that are performed. Here is where the value of a wide repertoire is felt. And this very feeling humbled me last week when i had to perform at 5 different places clustered around a kilometer stretch.

I have heard that stalwarts like Ariyakudi knew a 100 krithis in Thodi alone. Hmm... thats quite a number isnt it???. My life would be satiated if knew one tenth of that...!!!! I also think about executing a self-imposed policy of presenting atleast a couple new pieces every concert that i get to do. That might lead me towards attaining a decent collection of krithis somewhere in future.

Now to less serious issues, I am craving to watch the new films that have released. Heard China Town is a screamer. Just dont wanna miss it at any cost.

    It is nice to read you did 5 kutcheris in a kilometer recently. No doubt you are in great demand and you always do well as seen in CMI and RRY. Could you post a video of any such one for our rasikas viewership

Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

What is music to me? I have come across this question many a times in my life - either in an interpersonal conversation or, most of the time an intrapersonal one. But to answer this, shouldn’t I think whether, Music chose me to be a musician or did I ? Turning back the pages of pretty old a script, wasn’t it a natural bonding?
